I realised this weekend just how little I have been out and about recently. Time has disappeared, eaten up by work and general day to day chores and living. In the meantime, the seasons have most definitely changed, it’s now cold and dark, seeing the sun will be a bit of a novelty until spring rolls around!
But even though I feel we have moved into winter (quite swiftly in my opinion!) Autumn still seems to be hanging on in there, reluctant to leave us to it just yet!
I went for a few short walks over the weekend and found the colours of Autumn were still quite abundant.
Surrounding by these rustic tones I felt quite calm and soothed. I took deep restorative breaths of the very crisp air, feeling my body relax.
It seems to surprise me every year how much I enjoy Autumn. Maybe it’s an age thing, when I was younger I don’t think I ever really noticed the change from one season to the next. But now I’m older, although I dread the winter, Autumn brings along its own joys.
I can see it hanging on in there, but it won’t be long until the trees are bare and ground grows firmer with frost…oops, too late!

But for the moment, I am enjoying the final fling of these Autumnal colours!
Lovely photos, the colours in Autumn are always stunning aren’t they?

Thank you! Yes they are, aren’t they – I don’t know why I’m surprised at how lovely they are every year!

What a treat! Thank you for posting 🙂 I grew up in the Midwest and Autumn was always my favorite. Colorado doesn’t have quite the same effect. Fewer trees I suppose?????

It has been lovely so far! It is probably turning into my 2nd favourite season (behind summer!). Ah, Colorado isn’t quite the same then?

Brilliant colors. Autumn is my least favorite of seasons, so I mostly ignore it when it comes. However, when I actually stop and look at the trees in the forest, I marvel at them. Thanks for showing me the nice part of fall.

Aah, my pleasure! It has passed me by a bit this year, but like you when I do stop and look I’m always so surprised at what I see during Autumn!

Your photos bring to life the allure and serenity of fall, and remind me of quotes like Bronte’s “Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.” Thank you for sharing these moments of beauty!

Thank you so much! I love that quote too, it does sum up how I sometimes feel when I see the colours of autumn around me. Thank you for reading and commenting!
