Image Earth Travel has nominated me for this challenge, thank you!
I don’t normally take part in these challenges much these days, but I love the idea of this one!
The 10 Day Travel Photo Challenge: post one photo for 10 days with no explanation and nominate another blogger each day to do the same…simple! It’s inspired me to have a trawl through my photos, which has been great fun.
Soooo, here we go with DAY 7…travel isn’t all about the glitz and glamour!

For the remainder of this challenge I am not going to nominate individuals, but throw the challenge open to you all!
If you fancy taking part, please feel free to get posting!
ahah hope you can return there to see the final result 🙂 best, PedroL

Unfortunately the whole town was like this, quite shocking really, but I hope that we see improvements the next time we visit (it’s the jumping off point to some lovely islands, so I do intend to return!) 🙂

Thanks, I was quite shocked by the scale of it all when we passed through this town, I had to record it!

Woah. Why would you find yourself in such a place?

I know, right? It’s Sihanoukville, which is a coastal town in Cambodia. It’s the jumping off point for the islands there (which are gorgeous!) which we have visited a few times, so you have to pass through it. It used to be one of those pretty sleepy little backpacker haunts, but there are no remnants of that left, it’s been completely decimated. I was utterly shocked at the scale of development which had it seemed all ground to a halt so there was just empty shells after empty shells of large hotels lining the coast…and streets that look like this! I really hope that they are able to turn it around and the locals who were displaced for all this are able to return to their town.
