Here we are delving into February and I don’t really know where January has gone! It’s been busy, busy, busy with work and life in general and hasn’t left me much time, or energy, to focus on blogging.
I feel as though I’ve dropped the ball a bit in that respect, I haven’t had the brain space to think up posts and therefore haven’t been as active as I would have liked. I must apologise if I have missed some of your posts, it’s definitely not intentional, I just haven’t been able to keep up with reading as much as I would like either.

I started the year in a fairly positive frame of mind (new year can be a bit hit and miss for me in that respect!). I didn’t make any resolutions as such, but quietly made a goal to myself that I would try to get a bit fitter. In the previous six months or so, I had definitely let things slide. Tired of feeling like I was doing stuff just because I felt I OUGHT to do it, I stopped… it was a huge relief! But it did mean that I wasn’t exercising and I was eating whatever I felt like, because I wanted to… which was great (sooo much chocolate!!), but did nothing for my health!!
Come the new year and with a holiday looming (there’s nothing like a trip to focus the mind!) I was feeling podgy and unfit. So, with the goal of the holiday in mind, it was time to do something about it. And I’m pleased to say that I have been getting to the gym and have picked up yoga again… I’m actually really enjoying it (when I get there – the motivation does come and go!) but oh my word, it tires me out! After a long day at work, a session at the gym just about finishes me off!!
January hasn’t been all work and exercise though, I’ve had some treats thrown in for good measure too. A fabulous day spent with my wonderful friend, indulging in afternoon tea and then drinks at the gorgeous hotel, The Lanesborough in London, was a definite highlight!

I also took myself off the Destinations Show at Olympia in London, which is a huge travel exhibition, showcasing many interesting destinations around the world and travel companies selling their wares. I had a fun day wandering the stalls, chatting to people to get ideas for future trips, particularly to Africa, and listening to some of the speakers they had there. I managed to resist the urge to book any trips, but I had some interesting conversations which have definitely given me food for thought and made my travel wish list even longer!

Anyway, that’s a bit of a long-winded way of saying that I am still here, but I’ve been struggling to find the time to blog for various different reasons recently! But that’s life isn’t it? There are always ebbs and flows!
I hope you are all having a good start to the year! How has it been treating you? Was January a good /bad/ugly one?
Aaaah the Lanesborough…! You don’t need to explain anything – that is a very good reason not to have time to write!
Glad you have been having some fun along with all the hard work.
January for me was fine… but the missing Goldfinch really has been taking hold. Can’t wait until spring!

Sometimes blogging has to take a back seat to life especially if you’re busy enjoying yourself elsewhere and getting fit too. Looking forward to following you this year.

That travel destination show would be like torture for me. I would love it but at the same time I’d panic because life’s too short and work takes up too much time and there are just so many great places to see and, and, and… So you can see that it’s probably good that I didn’t go to that show. (Plus I’m in America so that wouldn’t have really worked anyway.)

😂😂 I can totally identify with all of that!! I had a few specific destinations in mind that I wanted to find out a bit more about, so it was great for that purpose. There was so much info there though, it would’ve been easy to get carried away and book something!!

We all have our ebbs and flows, that’s for sure. Glad to hear you have taken up Yoga and enjoying it. Taking time out for ourselves is so important but it’s finding that complete balance. Have a wonderful Feb lovely. 🙂
