I have just returned from a lovely weekend in the city of Wells in Somerset. The destination was chosen by my mum and I gladly went along for the ride!
We had a fabulous time together, taking in the sights of the smallest city in England, eating waaayyy too much, including cream teas and delicious cakes, drinking copious amounts of tea and partaking in a sneaky gin and tonic (or two!) in the evening sun.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather, it was hot, the skies were blue, the sun shone and the flip flops came out!
Wells was being shown off to us in all its glory! It is a beautiful city and definitely a contender for the perfect destination for a short break.
It’s also where they filmed Hot Fuzz (starring Simon Pegg), so it was fun to spot the film locations (it wasn’t difficult!) around and about!

It was delicious – they had a whole menu just full of gins! We were spoilt for choice 🙂 It was lovely to spend some quality time with mum, we don’t do it often enough.

Hey…looks like a perfect weekend. I was thinking of you the other day. Wimbledon is going to be hot hot hot! Have a great time. I passed again the other day…all the shops in the village have turned tennis-crazy. The tennis club looks great. But I reckon there will be visitors at Wimbledon passing out left, right and center.

Thank you! I’m so excited! But I’m keeping an eye on the weather forecast, it does look like it’s going to be really hot doesn’t it! I will be making sure I dress appropriately!!
