Goodbye 2017 – let’s get 2018 on the road!

Happy New Year!  So, I’ve been a bit lazy on the blogging front the last few weeks, what with Christmas and all.  The festive season was lovely, but I was pretty tired by the time the holidays rolled around.  Christmas day was spent very quietly with my family and it was lovely, I couldn’t have asked for a nicer day actually.

I then spent the rest of the holidays with a horrible cold that I still haven’t been able to shift.  So, that’s how I have begun 2018, not the most auspicious of starts I must admit, but the only way is up!

As we start a new year, it’s only natural to reflect on what last year brought along and what might happen this year.  It’s also a time when people start to set New Year resolutions and all that.

I have to admit that I am not a great one for making resolutions .  I find they create a lot of pressure I don’t need and I know that I won’t be able to keep them.  Maybe that is a bit defeatist – or maybe I have just made the wrong sort of resolutions in the past?!

I’ve found that I will not stick with the traditional ones – I won’t be able to get to the gym 3 times a week (although I will give it a good go!), I will still have that biscuit every now and then, I will fancy a glass of wine… you get the picture!  Life’s too short!

So, I haven’t made any resolutions, but I will probably set myself a few goals throughout the year. I have learnt that setting small goals works much better for me and I have more chance of actually achieving them. Time will tell what they might be!

One thing is for sure though, I hope to find a bit more balance in my life this year, that is a must.

Let’s see what 2018 brings, because as I have learnt over the years, life is unpredictable!

Firstly though, Australia here we come… let the travelling commence!!
