Friendly Friday Challenge – Special Treats

Friendly Friday Challenge – Special Treats

I was sat at my desk at home recently, as I am every working day now, when there was a knock at the door. I was in the middle of writing a long email, so I left it to my partner to answer it. A minute later I got up to see what it was [...]

Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Shadows

This week's theme set by the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge is Shadows. I do enjoy taking photos of shadows, they don't always work out but it's fun to try! A Little Sunshine To Lift My Mood!

Well, I should say a lot of sunshine! It's the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and the sun is out here in the UK...this is unheard of!!  It seem so rare to actually get good weather on a holiday weekend...and for the whole weekend..that's four whole days, shock horror! And this is why us Brits are [...]

Lake Macquarie, Swansea

Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Photo Walk On my recent trip to Australia, we returned once again to Swansea in New South Wales. Swansea sits between the ocean and Lake Macquarie, a huge salt water lake.  Whilst there I wanted to go for a walk along the shores of Lake Macquarie.  I took these photos during [...]

All Time Favourites…

May 31, 2018by mydustyflipflops12 Comments on All Time Favourites…

I can't believe this is the last photo challenge!  I started this blog last year and the daily prompts and photo challenges have been invaluable to me, not only for providing much needed inspiration, but also as being a great place for interaction and discovering some great blogs out there.  Thank you to everyone for [...]

Jubilee Pool, Penzance

April 25, 2018by mydustyflipflops10 Comments on Jubilee Pool, Penzance

I visited Penzance in Cornwall, UK, with a friend for a gloriously fun and sunny weekend last year.  It was such a brilliant weekend and we were totally blessed with weather. There is a lido there called the Jubliee Pool.  It had fallen into disrepair but had been restored to its former glory and was [...]

Sunsets Galore in Laos

April 1, 2018by mydustyflipflops15 Comments on Sunsets Galore in Laos

I have so many photos of sunsets (they are one of my favourite things!), and these are some of my most recent. Taken on a trip to the Elephant Conservation Centre in northern Laos, this setting was pretty spectacular and watching the sunset over the lake was very special.  It was so peaceful and quiet [...]

Canine Cheekiness in Myanmar

December 8, 2017by mydustyflipflops2 Comments on Canine Cheekiness in Myanmar

Whilst wandering around the town of Nyaungshwe at Inle Lake in Myanmar, we watched this dog saunter out into the road and then sit down, seemingly oblivious to the fact it would be in the way of the traffic.  I loved the fact that it didn't actually care and would not move.  Happily lounging around, [...]

Finding serenity in Hpa-An, Myanmar

December 1, 2017December 2, 2017by mydustyflipflops7 Comments on Finding serenity in Hpa-An, Myanmar

The feeling of serenity does not happen that often in daily life (not for me anyway!), so when it comes along I try to take the time to appreciate it. On my travels there are certain places and moments that make me take a breath and appreciate the stillness and peace of the moment.  One [...]

The last gasps of Autumn! These colours have kept me going through a second lockdown. Walks in the fresh air in lovely scenery have been definite good mood boosters! Beautiful 💕

Preah Vihear, an ancient temple that sits atop a cliff in the mountains on the Cambodia/Thai border. A place full of history which has commanding views across the surrounding area. It's definitely worth a visit! I took a (long!) daytrip there from Siem Reap, read all about my experience on my blog, link in bio!
