…A CUPPA! I do love a cup of tea, I have English Breakfast in the morning and then on the weekends, when I can sit back and enjoy a cuppa in the afternoon, my tea of choice is a nice Earl Grey. Could I be more British??!!
I was sitting enjoying one of these the other day. The sun was out and I was just enjoying a few minutes peace and quiet. My mind wandered to a photo I took of a cuppa I enjoyed over on the other side of the world earlier this year.
I was waiting for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport at the end of our trip to Laos. We had splurged for the last few nights and were staying in the gorgeous Mekong Riverview Hotel in Luang Prabang. A lovely treat to ourselves!
As we had to check out of our room a few hours before we needed to get to the airport, we had taken the opportunity for one last walk around the city and then retired to the hotel to wait for our ride. We helped ourselves to the refreshments on offer and sat back to enjoy the hotel before we had to leave.
I made myself a cuppa (you can take the girl out of England and all that!) and took it out onto the veranda. It was blissful, I sat there and watched the world go by, enjoying my brew and taking in the view of the magnificent Mekong river one last time, trying to absorb as much of the heat as possible before I returned to a cold UK.
Whilst watching the comings and goings on the river, I made a promise to myself that we would definitely be returning to Laos, hopefully in the not too distance future.

This was fun! 🙂 Here’s to tea, some fun, and a good view.

Oh yes. A cup of tea and a good view – together they can allow you to float away.
