A Little Sunshine To Lift My Mood!

Well, I should say a lot of sunshine!

It’s the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and the sun is out here in the UK…this is unheard of!!  It seem so rare to actually get good weather on a holiday weekend…and for the whole weekend..that’s four whole days, shock horror! And this is why us Brits are so obsessed with weather…you just never know what you are going to get.

Blue skies everywhere!

I know it’s not just me whose mood is lifted as soon as the sun comes out.  Collectively I think the whole country relaxes, smiles and gets out to make the most of it.

BBQ’s will be fired up, the supermarkets will be stripped of all meat and salad items and parks and beaches will fill up with sunbathers, who will spend the day fighting off the wasps that seem to be everywhere at the moment!

Gorgeous blooms.

I am certainly no different. As soon as the weather turns, I just want to get out in the sunshine. I feel happier and lighter.

I am pleased to say that we have followed the trend this weekend and managed to have a BBQ (it would be rude not to!).  Spending the day with family who I haven’t seen for a while and this gorgeous, lovely, cute, lady!

Look at that face! How could your mood not be lifted by that face?

Happy days are here again!

  1. It is incredible how much the sun affects us. Here in Finland people just wake up in the Springtime and start hanging out outdoors, meeting people and just being more energetic. Me included! I have spent this entire Easter break outside pottering about in the garden 🙂

    1. Thanks very much for your comments 🙂 The sun does have such an impact on us doesn’t it, some more than others. It really does influence my mood terribly, I’m not sure how I’d cope living anywhere with less sunshine that we get in the UK. It sounds like you had a lovely Easter weekend though! I hope the sun continues shining for you in Finland! It feels so lovely when spring finally emerges 🙂

  2. I always found it funny how people in some cities/ countries would rush outside the moment it got sunny/ warmer. It’s usually too cold for me, but others see any rise in temperature as a great excuse to take off half their wardrobe and have a BBQ. I guess it’s a mentality of people used to living in colder places.

  3. Love the dog – and of course, your sentiments re the sun and blue skies. Here on the Isle of Wight we are basking in 24 degrees of lovely warmth and I can’t believe my luck. Cancel all arrangements, I’m staying in the garden!
