A Post About Nothing!

I’m sat here looking at an empty screen… I don’t know what to write.  My mind is just at a complete blank right now.

It’s been a really busy week at work, I’ve been exhausted by the time I’ve gotten home and my head is full of all sorts of thoughts, worries, plans and lists…everything apart from content for a good blog post! I have half drafted posts which I want to finish, but the words won’t come.

So here I am, writing about the fact that I can’t think of anything to write about! It’s like Seinfeld! I’m tired and I can’t organise my thoughts enough to form any sort of idea.

Instead, I’m peppering this post with photos of the glorious colours of Autumn…just because! This season grows on me every year and the tones and hues which have been displayed by mother nature this year really haven’t disappointed. They’ve been magnificent and have made me very happy!

So, I’m going to settle down for a nice take-away dinner (with a glass of wine or two!) and put something trashy on the telly and give my mind a break. Hopefully I’ll be back to full blogging strength shortly!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Do you have moments of blogger’s block? What do you do when it happens?

  1. Ugh! Writers block is a bugger. Think you’re on the right track by having a little break and wine (always wine!). I’m sure you’ll be back to giving us major travel envy and inspo very soon. 😊

  2. You have what I call “blog clog.” I haven’t had it yet, but I can relate to coming home exhausted, especially now that it’s the holiday season. I like you plan for the evening. If it doesn’t help, at least you know it can’t hurt!

    1. “Blog clog” – I love it! That’s a good description 🙂 Yes, things are getting even busier now that Christmas is approaching as well aren’t they. Well, I had a lovely quiet evening in the end so that did definitely help 🙂 I hope you had a good weekend!

  3. Lovely photos! I’m the same at the mo, I think it is because I’ve a new job, this equals no motivation. I’m not even finding it too taxing, BUT it still seems to slow me down each evening. I’ve challenged myself to #Blogmas – not sure if I’ll keep it up but I’ve posted today 🙂

    1. Thank you very much! Oh congratulations on your new job, I hope it’s going well! I hadn’t heard of Blogmas before your comment – I’ve looked it up, that’s quite a challenge! Good luck, I’m sure you’ll do it 🙂

  4. Writer’s block sucks. My rule of thumb: don’t force it and remind yourself of why you blog. I’m lucky to have a travel ánd photography blog. I like to switch it up anyway and tend to prepare posts ahead. I love posting photos with just a bit of info or a little thought. I also like sharing thoughts every once in a while. Knowing my time during the week is limited and knowing that I blog best when in a bloggy kind of mood, I just don’t make myself when I don’t feel like it. If I come up with ideas, I jot them down and when I feel inspired I write and post. And since I usually have at least some posts prepared, I can change the scheduling to balance the content of my blog.
    Hope this makes sense! 😉

    1. It all makes total sense! You sound very organised 🙂 I would like to get used to scheduling posts more, but it hasn’t happened yet! I do love the way that you mix it up and post photos as well. Thanks so much for your thoughts – you are totally right, that I need to remind myself why I blog and not stress about it 🙂 It’s funny how it ebbs and flows isn’t it. Sometimes posts come easily, sometimes not so much. I still love it though 🙂

      1. I absolutely get the ebbs and flows! Like today: I got hit with inspiration and now have a draft of a post ready for finetuning!
Reminding myself of why I blog is most important because I want to be genuine. I also want to keep my followers and visitors entertained/excited about my posts and photos so that’s why I enjoy a regular flow of content. And I still have so much to share! But if for some reason I go a week without posting then that’s life too, isn’t it?
I’m glad you still love it, because I enjoy your writings and would love to read more! 🙂

        1. Aah, thank you, that really means a lot to me! I think you’re right, we can’t beat ourselves up if life gets in the way sometimes. I’ve had a quiet week on the blogging front, but am now feeling a lot more energised about it! I’m glad it’s not just me that experiences these ups and downs. I love that you post regularly with your photos from your travels too, you are a great photographer! The places you’ve been are truly stunning 🙂

      2. And in 2017, I barely posted anything. My new job was taking up all my energy. After a while I started with blogging once a week, scheduling things ahead. Then I felt I could take it up a notch, and now I post three times a week, sometime even with a bonus here or there 🙈

  5. Hope the trash TV and takeaway hit the spot. Writers block or bloggers block or whatever happens all the time, not worth worrying about is it? Just enjoy the break and get back to blogging when it suits you not anyone else.

  6. I’ve cut back to once a week. Sometimes I wish it was more but keeping up the responses and visits takes up more time than I’m willing to commit. Heavens, I’m retired, and have oodles of time! But I don’t want to waste it. There’s a life to live, and I don’t know for how much longer. We none of us do. Wishing you all the joys of the season and none of the stress (you wish! 🙂 )
